Experiencing low vision or trouble hearing can be distressing for a young child. The disconnect between them and the world around them can lead to behavior problems or detachment. Does your child: ▢ Squint or blink a lot ▢ Have trouble reading or sit very close to the TV/screens ▢ Complain that things look blurry ▢ Have trouble following directions ▢ Listen to audio at a high volume ▢ Often seem distracted or unresponsive to loud or sudden sounds These are just a few signs that your child might be experiencing vision or hearing loss. Identifying these problems early is key to helping your child receive the medical care they need to feel confident and understood. Early detection can prevent delays in language, speech, or socialization. That’s why CPLC, in partnership with First Things First, is offering a FREE sensory screening. If you find out your child needs further medical procedures and/or intervention, we invite you to join our parent support group. It can be scary to learn that your child may have a language delay or that they need surgery to drain fluid trapped in the eardrum—even trying to get a toddler to wear glasses can be a struggle! We want to provide a safe place for you to share experiences while preventing the spread of misinformation. As a community, we will help each
